India Insulted -- Former president APJ Abdul Kalam frisked away at IGI Airport!

As the whole world was gearing up for the century's last celestial phenomenan the full solar eclipse to take place on 22nd July, a day earlier the former president of India and the missile man APJ Abdul Kalam had to part with his dignity in person and India as a nation on the pretext of security checking by the Us Based Continental Airlines as he was boarding for Newark at the Indira Gandhi International Airport.

As soon as the news spreads out among the political circles and the issue was raised into parliament by the opposition party members demanding immediate ban on Continental Airlines unless they apologise for their blunder, Kalam on his part preferred to keep silence on the issue.

In fact, the entire issue lacked the attention of the majority of the people mainly due the hype created by the Indian media regarding the total solar eclipe which was to take place at the dawn of 22 July,2009.

I am not against the rules to be followed anywhere....but the way Mr. Kalam was handled in his own country by the foreigners on his land in a somewhat silent(until it was brought into light by media)and unusual way, it puts up a big question mark on India's sovereignity and dignity.

Before examining a person like Kalam's calibre and stature firstly Mr.Kalam himself should have personally been taken into confidence and then secondly the Govt.of India's permission should have been taken. Only then they (the Continental Airlines) should have been allowed to do the necessary security checking and that too in a restricted way.But those idiots went on to take the slippers/shoes off of Mr. kalam's feet.This is certainly not tolerable.

The government of India should ask for written apology from the concerned authorities not only at the airlines staff level but from the country which the airlines belonged...yes you read me right...the USA, and consequently punishing them for their cowardice act failing which the Continental Airlines involed in this incident should immediately be banned and kicked out of the country at the earliest so that no other Airlines would dare to do such act in future and in the process no harm should be done to our pride and nation as a whole.
